Q123 : Using Zoom Polygon to Plot Only Touch Voltages Within Substation and Within Reach of Substation Fence on the Outside

Question
How to use Zoom Polygon to Plot Only Touch Voltages Within Substation and Within Reach of Substation Fence on the Outside.

Answer
When potential profiles are extending too far outside the grid, the resulting touch voltages can appear to be very large, leading to overdesign. This is why we have developed the Zoom feature in the Output Toolbox. Even if you have MALT compute earth potentials throughout an area extending far outside your grid, you can have the graph-generating software restrict the plot to a polygonal subset of this area: for most types of graphs (i.e., 3-D
perspective, 2-D spot, contour), this is necessarily a rectangular area, which corresponds to the shape of your present plot area. Simply click on the Advanced button in output Toolbox on the Computations screen (i.e., the screen from which you select step voltage plots) and click on "Zoom Polygon": you are then invited to either enter the coordinates of the four coordinates of the zoom area corners, in clockwise or counterclockwise order, or to select them graphically with your mouse (automatic zoom button). Alternatively, instead of clicking on "Zoom Polygon", you can specify a range of profile points and profiles to be included in your plot.
