Improvements in Right-of-Way (ROWCAD)
Right-of-Way (ROWCAD), as the application was renamed in version 20 of SES Software, is the
tool of choice for EMI studies of interaction corridors. It has become the official complete and
standalone interface for the Right-of-Way (ROW) engine. The classic ROW interface was moved
to the Legacy subfolder of the software distribution. The most notable changes and enhancements
to the application are:
- A more open and reorganized project file structure that eliminates the encapsulated
.RowCAD scenario files and makes the scenario files more accessible.
- Tools that help tame the generation of regions for structures that extend beyond the main
interaction corridor and are therefore expected to have a weak inductive coupling with
other structures: 1) structure extensions as Entities, and 2) no-coupling polyline segments.
Display of regions for polyline segments that are not coupled to other polylines.
- A simplified way of defining insulating joints, flanges, etc., that allows specifying a finite
impedance, and that transfers to both SPLITS and MALZ files.
- The integration of the Generic Circuit Solver (GCS), a more powerful circuit engine.
Switching between the SPLITS and GCS modes from Project Settings.
- A clearer separation of the moving fault specification and of monitored quantities
extraction.
The new reporting items in the Plot and Report module, and the new Ground Potential Difference definition screen.
Focus will now shift towards the opportunities presented by the integration of the new GCS circuit
solver. It promises greater flexibility, more intuitive specifications and enhanced performance.
